‘ice out’ protest
On Jan. 23, 2026, Minnesotans participated in protest against the surge of federal immigration enforcement action in the state. Minnesota labor unions, community activists and faith leaders organized an economic blackout, dubbed “ICE Out of Minnesota: Day of Truth and Freedom,” and thousands flooded the streets of downtown Minneapolis in below-freezing temperatures in solidarity.
